On 11 March 2022, we made the decision to suspend all SBP certificates in Russia and Belarus. The suspension of the SBP certificates in Belarus and Russia will take effect on 8 April 2022 at 12.00PM CET.
We will be monitoring the situation and as soon as conditions permit the certificates may be reinstated.
Our accredited Certification Bodies will automatically suspend the certificates in Belarus and Russia, there is no need for Certificate Holders to take any action.
The certificates will remain valid without the option to trade. Certificate Holders are expected to maintain their SBP management systems to ensure continued compliance with the SBP Standards and to ensure that trade can be restarted as soon as the suspension is lifted.
Certificate Holders from Belarus and Russia will continue to have access to the DTS to view their past transactions, however, it will not be possible to enter new transactions after 12.00PM CET on 8 April 2022.
Customers who have received a DTS transaction before 12.00PM CET on 8 April 2022 can still accept the transaction from suppliers in Belarus and Russia. Certificate Holders in Belarus and Russia will not be able to share any new transactions in the DTS after 12.00PM CET on 8 April 2022.

Any biomass produced before 12.00PM CET on 8 April 2022 is eligible to carry an SBP claim.
If the transaction was created and shared before 12.00PM CET on 8 April 2022 and the dispatch has taken place before the suspension then the biomass can carry an SBP claim.
To cater for the extraordinary circumstances, SBP has decided to allow biomass produced, sold (invoiced) and shared in the DTS to be dispatched after the suspension if an accredited SBP Certification Body confirms that the conditions (production, sale and DTS announcement prior to the suspension) have been meet.

No, holding or using stock from Russia or Belarus will have no impact on your certification status.
Certificate Holders will be liable to pay the annual licence fee, but with no transactions there will be no transaction fee.
Certificate Holders may terminate their certificate at any time. If you wish to do so, please get in touch with your Certification Body.
