Public consultations on updated risk assessments

At the end of May, we launched a series of public consultations on updated draft Regional Risk Assessments (RRAs) and REDIII Level A Risk Assessments, following the publication of SBP Standards v2.1.
The updates reflected changes introduced in SBP Standards v2.1, including new and revised indicators in SBP Standard 1 aligned with the EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDIII) sustainability criteria. As a result, RRAs and REDIII Level A Risk Assessments were updated where necessary to ensure full alignment with the revised requirements.
The consultation focused specifically on indicators that were new or had been amended under v2.1. In some cases, related indicators, particularly those concerning High Conservation Values, were also revised. Indicators that remain unchanged were outside the scope of the consultation.
Stakeholders were invited to review the draft updates and provide feedback during the consultation period, which ran from 28 May to 27 June 2026.
To support accessibility and encourage broad participation, selected consultation materials were made available in multiple languages, including English and French for certain Canadian provinces and Vietnamese for relevant documents.
Now the consultation has closed, we will review all feedback received with the intention of publishing the updated risk assessments in line with the effective date of SBP Standards v2.1 on 29 July 2026.
