21-22 October, Richmond, Virginia, USA: Risk-based approaches to identifying and managing sustainability risks in sensitive forests in the US

SFI Annual Conference Side Event. A half-day workshop featuring presentations and in-depth discussions on the afternoon of Monday, 21 October followed by a tour of working forests in the region on the morning of Tuesday, 22 October. The tour will conclude in time to attend the opening plenary session of the 2019 SFI Annual Conference.

28 October 2019, Washington DC, USA: Half-day SBP general information workshop

Audience: All interested parties

The half-day workshop will cover a general introduction to SBP and an update on current initiatives. It is recommended that those attending the training sessions (see below) also attend the half-day workshop.

Audience: ASI, Certification Bodies and Certificate Holders

The forum brings together the SBP Secretariat, ASI, Certification Bodies and Certificate Holders for a half-day session to discuss a range of certification issues from procedures to performance. Participants are encouraged to help set the agenda by submitting questions and topics that they would like to discuss.

Audience: Members of the Stakeholder Advisory Group

Registration for the meeting is open until Monday, 7 October. Members may register for the meeting at: Stakeholder Advisory Group. If you are not a member of the Group, you may register your interest in participating in the work of the Group here. Stakeholders are reminded that the number of members of the Stakeholder Advisory Group is unlimited, although only one representative from each organisation/institution will be permitted.

Forthcoming training sessions

28-29 October 2019, Washington DC, USA: Lead auditor training

Audience: Certification Bodies, lead auditors, certification decision makers, scheme managers, and technical reviewers.

Participants will receive training and be examined on three subject areas: supply base evaluation, chain of custody, and energy and carbon data. In addition to demonstrating existing auditor competence, participants must pass all three examinations in order to conduct SBP audits on behalf of a Certification Body.
