SBP Appoints Andrew Georgiou as Director of Communications and External Affairs

SBP is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Georgiou as its new Director of Communications and External Relations.

Andrew will lead SBP’s communications, stakeholder engagement and external relations activities, supporting the delivery of the organisation’s ambitious five-year strategy and its mission to enable a sustainable and trusted circular bioeconomy.
With more than 15 years of experience across the energy, sustainability and climate sectors, Andrew joins SBP from the Advanced Woody Biomass Alliance (AWBA), where he currently serves as Vice President, Global Policy. Previously, he held senior policy and regulatory roles at Enviva and E.ON.

Over the past five years, Andrew has worked extensively at the intersection of biomass, sustainability and climate policy, engaging closely with industry leaders, policymakers, regulators and trade associations across Europe and internationally.
He brings deep knowledge of the biomass value chain, the evolving regulatory landscape, and the critical role that robust certification plays in building trust and confidence throughout global supply chains.

Andrew joins SBP on 1 November 2026.
